Loosely cut trousers with rib-knitted ankle edges and a wide waistband, without elastic at the waist. 70% organic, untreated merino wool, 30% silk. Breathable and temperature-regulating, for all seasons. The silk makes the garment extra soft against sensitive skin. The trousers are footless for easier access to any equipment. Wool/silk breathes and is temperature-regulating. It wicks moisture and sweat away from the skin, warms when it is cold and cools when it is warm. It retains its warming ability even when wet, so that the baby does not become clammy or wet and then cold. The fibre structure and lanolin content of untreated wool make it air- and bacteria-inhibiting, and stains are easier to wipe away. Silk also has a naturally cleansing effect. A few hours' airing is often sufficient. Environmentally certified (GOTS), ethically and responsibly manufactured, and contain no harmful chemicals. Need not be washed before use, but some neonatal units require washing or freezing treatment before use. For the very smallest, it is especially important to maintain a steady temperature so that they can use their energy to grow. Untreated wool helps the little one keep warm and is free from substances that may be harmful.
